Compensation

Monetary Compensation shall be paid as per the grid notified by the Executive Committee.

Furthermore, we also strongly encourage our panel advocates to take up pro-bono cases. By taking part in pro-bono cases, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those who are most vulnerable and in need of legal support. We believe that pro-bono work is an essential part of our commitment to serving the community and promoting justice.

1. Employment Status: Panel advocates at Justice Alive Foundation will be engaged as independent contractors, not as employees. This position does not create an employer-employee relationship between the panel advocate and the organization.

2. Case Assignments: Justice Alive Foundation will assign cases to panel advocates based on their expertise, availability, and the needs of the organization. The organization reserves the right to allocate cases at its discretion.

3. Compensation: As per grid notified by the Executive Committee.

4. Pro-Bono Cases: Panel advocates are strongly encouraged to take up pro-bono cases as part of their commitment to community service and promoting access to justice. Pro-bono cases will not be eligible for monetary compensation, but they provide an opportunity for panel advocates to contribute their legal expertise to individuals in need.

5. Professional Conduct: Panel advocates are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and ethical manner at all times. This includes maintaining client confidentiality, adhering to the rules and regulations of the legal profession, and acting in the best interests of the clients and the organization.

6. Case Management and Documentation: Panel advocates are responsible for managing their assigned cases efficiently and maintaining accurate and up-to-date case files. This includes properly organizing and storing all relevant documents, correspondence, and records related to the cases.

7. Continuing Education: Panel advocates are encouraged to engage in continuous learning and professional development activities to enhance their legal knowledge and skills. This may include attending seminars, workshops, and training programs related to their areas of practice.

8. Availability: Panel advocates are expected to be available as needed to fulfill their responsibilities, which may include attending court hearings, client consultations, and other legal proceedings. While reasonable notice will be provided for case assignments, flexibility and responsiveness are crucial for effective case management.

9. Case Recall: Justice Alive Foundation reserves the right to recall assigned cases at its discretion if it is unsatisfied with the performance of the panel advocate. In such cases, the panel advocate will be required to provide the necessary no-objection certificate upon request by the organization.

10. Termination: Either party may terminate the engagement as a panel advocate with Justice Alive Foundation by providing written notice to the other party. The organization reserves the right to terminate the engagement if the panel advocate fails to fulfill their obligations, violates ethical standards, or engages in conduct detrimental to the organization's mission and reputation.

11. Indemnification: Panel advocates agree to indemnify and hold Justice Alive Foundation harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising out of their actions or omissions in the course of their duties as panel advocates, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct by the organization.

12. Modification: Justice Alive Foundation reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at its discretion. Any modifications will be communicated to the panel advocates in writing or through appropriate channels.
